Educational tools only — not medical care

Migraine Trail is not a healthcare provider, medical service, or medical device. These tools use information you enter and simplified educational rules. They may be incomplete or wrong and cannot examine you.

  • Results do not diagnose, rule out, confirm, or predict any disease, headache type, trigger, emergency, or personal medical risk.
  • Do not start, stop, combine, delay, or change a medicine or treatment—and do not delay professional care—because of a result.
  • Labels such as “pattern,” “alignment,” “score,” “threshold,” “risk,” or “urgency” are educational summaries, not clinical findings or probabilities.

Discuss symptoms and decisions with a licensed healthcare professional who knows your history. For a child, involve a parent or guardian and an appropriate pediatric clinician.

These two answers are useful to a healthcare professional but are not included in your MIDAS score.

MIDAS score ranges

Grade I0–5Little or no disability
Grade II6–10Mild disability
Grade III11–20Moderate disability
Grade IV21+Severe disability

The MIDAS score is the sum of questions 1–5. Questions A and B do not change the grade. A disability score is not the same as a diagnosis, headache-day classification, or legal determination of disability.

Frequently asked questions

What is a MIDAS score?

It is a three-month measure of headache-related disability across paid work or education, household work, and family, social, or leisure activities.

What if I do not work or attend school?

Enter 0 for the two work or school questions. Household and social activity questions still contribute to the score.

Does MIDAS diagnose migraine?

No. MIDAS measures the effect of headaches on daily function. It cannot identify the headache type or replace a medical assessment.
